There was this other guy who wrote plays too- his name was Racine. Unlike Moliere, though, he liked to kill off his characters (stupid tragedy). His plays usually ended with at least one person dying (except Berenice! Thanks Emily!). But Phedre did include someone being killed by a sea monster, so he makes it on the 17th century list.
